The Banyan Baba Trails
Goa is usually synonymous with the words unreal sunsets, cheap alcohol, 4am parties, mouth-watering seafood and Night out at Shacks.
But, have you thought you will get to meet a Yogic, Hot and Trippy Banyan Baba in Goa?? (Surrounded by all kinds of foreigners, coming diligently to visit him with theirs friends and families)
Its an experience you should not miss the next time you are travelling to Goa.
You can meet Baba at Arambol Beach in Goa. More interestingly, its just not the Baba who is of interest, it is also the Road that leads to him.
One has to start walking towards north of Arambol Beach towards the Cliff. After 10 mins of leisure walk on the Cliff, one will be able to find a secluded stretch of beach with the mighty sea on one side and a sweet water lake on the other. The picturesque landscape surrounding the Sweet water lake, locally called as Vagkolam Lake.
Keep walking to the end of the lake and you will find a clean way (made with stones) climbing up the hill in the forest. Keep following the path. The walk will take around 30-40 mins to be covered. You will be surprised by the travellers who cross by you. Also, there are couple of really friendly dogs who will guide you to the path. Just keep following the path trail and you will reach the Banyan Baba.

He is surrounded by his few followers, ready to meet and greet you. He sits under the Big Banyan tree, though the Baba as told is not a constant one changes every 3-4 months. Travellers come here with pots and enjoy the peace, light chanting mantras being played in the background and tourists sharing fruits and chillum around them in rounds.

Once we reached down, near the starting point of the fresh water lake, our attention shifted to the beautiful secluded stretch of beach. We reached around 5:30 pm, just in time of sunset. We took some easy chairs and bottle of beer each and settled down to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
